Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
I've never seen Sakho looks like he has a bad attitude or moody on the pitch. Not sure where all this has come from really.

He was pissed off at being left out the team, i've no problem with that. I'd much rather he gave a shit and wanted to play then be happy to pick up thousands a week sitting on the bench.

He has to stay for me, at the moment the best striker we have and have had for years.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Sakho,, Valencia, Eminike have to go - 100%

The latter two simply aren't good enough assuming we want to actually progress.

Sakho on his day can be good enough if he was in the zone & was happy enough to take up a fourth spot & work his nuts off & take his opportunity when he arises & looked to be forced out through form. However, he's not, too moody , carries too much baggage & an accident waiting to happen off the pitch. Get rid now otherwise his value will only decrease anyway.

Keep Carroll, but not as the main man / first option.

Keep Carroll and Sakho

Buy a big striker

Buy another striker for europe

Loan a young striker in for Europe as our academy seems short of anyone who can make the step up

Sakho's brain seems to have broken. He's turned into a bit of a mentalist.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
I would not be surprised if we lost 3 of them, Eminike, Valencia and Sakho.

I like Eminike seems to have the right attitude, but not the edge that counts - do think he could make it as part of a two man front line though as he has shown that he has a reasonable football brain and skill level.

Valencia is very much a confidence player and if, as it seems Slaven and the team cant get him to perform then as others have said perhaps this league is not right for him.

Sakho seems to have developed an attitude that stinks. I still think that if he had not thrown that strop before the Arsenal game, he would have played in the FA Cup replay, and an in form Sakho with the right attitude would probably have been the difference between us and MU getting to Wembley, so if a good price comes in let him go.

Keep Carroll and Sakho as our second string pair and get two better strikers in.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
It's simple for me. Keep Carroll and Sakho and release the other two. Yesterday highlighted this as well, our threat was greatly reduced with Emenike and Valenciaon the pitch.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Yeah Carroll and Sahko.

In truth though they have all gone off the boil, we need 2 better ones if we are to push on.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
At least for once we have had striking options.
I would let Emenike as i think he has been poor.

Sakho's off field antics have been a distraction
Carroll seems tuned in now and focussed.
Valencia I still feel is lightweight.

If I had to keep 2 and bin 2 then Carroll and Sakho stay.

joey5000 10:43 Mon May 16
Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
It all depends on what we can get for them. I'd personally keep Sakho and let Carroll/Valencia go if we receive £10m bids for either of them. I would only keep Emenike if we can get him massively on the cheap.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
If we manage to get in the 'top class' striker Sullivan is confident of buying, I'd get rid of Sakho,Valencia and Emenike, keep Carroll if he can stay fit,and utilise Antonio as an additional front man when needed. He is our best goal threat at the moment. I'd also get in Ross McCormack from Fulham who is one of the most intelligent strikers we can buy at a reasonable fee these days.Anyone that scoffs at that hasn't seen the man play football.

So our new strike force would be '20 goals a season man', Ross McCormack,Carroll and Antonio.

Desperately need new forwards. Bin the lot. No time for extolling the virtues of any of them

For Carroll read miss v United
For Sakho read miss v Stoke

We need more clinical finishers

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Valencia is not a premier league player. Couple of belters aside, he's never really looked like one. We have antonio to play his role.

Emenike hasnt worked out. He can go back.

Carroll is an odd one. I love an old skool centre forward. I think he should stay.

Sahko looks unhappy, but i'd still keep for the time being.

stewie griffin 9:57 Mon May 16
Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Even allowing for his profligacy in front of goal, its the fact that he seems to be monumentally thick that bothers me most about Valencia.

Gave the ball away in the dying seconds against Leicester, then yesterday stood there with his mouth open letting Diouf run off him to score the winner.

Emenike isn't good enough.

Sakho's goal return is excellent, but there's something about him I'm not keen on - not sure he fits into our team spirit at all really, and that nonsense yesterday when he was going off doesn't help.

Carroll I don't see anyone taking on the wedge he's on. But again, clean through, one on one during the week, had ZERO confidence he would score and so it proved, Reminded me of when LOLton used to get one on ones, although in fairness to Carroll, at least he didn't fall over his own feet.

All of that said, I'd be as happy with all 4 staying as all 4 leaving. They're ok, they all have their strengths, but could pretty easily be replaced, for me.

I'd agree. Sakho and Valencia are more versatile than Carroll and that's important if the gaffer wants to change how we play in some games.

I think some people are a little over-excited. Despite the lack of goals from strikers we've been decent with these options in the side.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
I've not seen any sign of improvement in Valencia and if anything he looks to have gone backwards.
Never feel like he fits in with what we are trying to do and looks a bit DETACHED.
My thoughts are that his game would be better suited to Spanish or Portuguese football.

alfie romeo 9:45 Mon May 16
Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Emenike can't score against top flight opposition and you can tell. Shite. I've always had patience towards valencia because he's a form player and needs a run. sadly ne never gets it because he's often injured or just doesn't take his chances so he needs to go.

Sahko can score but i would reckon he's needs some careful management cause he looks a bit mentally ill to me. not the answer but not worth giving up on. Carroll is effective in situations. he'll never be the total answer but opposition seem to fear him more than we like having him.

One McAvennieeeeee 9:41 Mon May 16
Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
I don't think he's anywhere near as bad as most people do.

He can play a number of positions and I don't think we can just sell everyone the crowd think are 'shit'.

It will cost around 50 mill to replace the above 4. I don't think it's a realistic option for a club to get rid of all their strikers in 1 go.

Why would you keep Valencia macca?

*let go of all four. I know eminike is on loan before KIA jumps down my throat.
